Poland Cancels the Radom Air Show 2027

The Polish Ministry of National Defense has officially confirmed that the renowned Radom International Air Show will not take place in 2027. This decision, communicated to municipal authorities in a letter from Deputy Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, stems from strictly operational considerations and the evolving geopolitical context, marked in particular by the conflict in Ukraine. The armed forces are now placing their top priority on operational missions and intensive training, while implementing preventive measures adopted in the wake of aviation accidents within the Polish military aviation sector.

This cancellation is a major disappointment for the city and aviation enthusiasts. Radom Mayor Radosław Witkowski expressed his deep regret over this decision, noting the event’s vital importance to the region—culturally, for tourism, and economically. Held intermittently since 1991, the Radom Air Show has established itself over the years as Poland’s largest aviation event and one of Europe’s premier showcases. The most recent edition, held in 2023, drew a record crowd of more than 175,000 spectators to the local airfield, following a notable hiatus caused by tragedies that occurred during preparations for the air show, such as the one involving Major Maciej Krakowian.

Despite this forced hiatus for the year 2027, the Ministry of Defense recognizes the event’s educational and patriotic value in promoting the armed forces. Local and government authorities remain hopeful that the event will resume in the future as soon as the international situation and security requirements permit. Mayor Radosław Witkowski has already reaffirmed the municipality’s full readiness to resume dialogue with the military and work toward bringing this major aviation event back to Radom as soon as conditions permit.
